Step 1: Initial Consultation and Assessment
Your visit begins with a detailed consultation with Dr Bik or Dr Rinku. We review your symptoms, medical history, family history, medication use, previous diagnosis, lifestyle, work or school exposures, and possible allergens at home or outdoors.
During an allergy consultation, the allergist may recommend specific allergy tests based on the information gathered from the patient. We also discuss whether your symptoms suggest allergy, intolerance, asthma, eczema, infection, immunology concerns, or another healthcare issue.
This first step is essential because allergy testing is most useful when it answers a clear clinical question. We take time to understand your concerns, explain the process, and determine which testing approach is most appropriate.
Step 2: Comprehensive Allergy Testing
We offer blood test options, including our TDP Signature test, which can cover up to 300 allergens. This private allergy testing option is designed to assess a broad range of seasonal, food, environmental, and other common triggers.
Testing may include:
Specific IgE blood tests
Broader allergen panels
Seasonal pollen and hay fever triggers
Food allergy markers
Environmental allergens such as dust mites, mould, and animal dander
Triggers linked with asthma, eczema, and gut symptoms
In wider allergy clinics, diagnostic testing includes Skin Prick Tests, Specific IgE Blood Tests, and Patch Testing for contact dermatitis.
We always confirm current fees before testing is conducted.
Step 3: Results Analysis and Diagnosis
Once your results are available, Dr Bik or Dr Rinku will interpret them in the context of your symptoms and medical history. This is important because allergy results must be explained carefully; a positive result may show sensitisation, but it does not always prove that the allergen is causing symptoms.
We identify the specific allergens most likely to be clinically relevant and explain what the findings mean for your daily life. We also discuss whether any results require avoidance, medication, further testing, specialist referral, immunotherapy, or monitoring.
Our aim is to give you a clear diagnosis, not a confusing list of allergens without context.
Step 4: Personalised Treatment Plan
After diagnosis, we develop a customised allergy management plan tailored to your needs. Your plan may include antihistamines, nasal sprays, eye drops, eczema care, asthma trigger management, food avoidance advice, environmental changes, hay fever injections, or referral for specialist immunotherapy.
Immunotherapy, sometimes described as allergy vaccines, may be suitable for selected patients with clearly identified triggers such as pollen or dust mites. It is usually considered when symptoms remain difficult despite standard treatment.
We provide ongoing support and follow-up care as needed, helping you manage symptoms, improve control, and reduce the impact of allergy on your life.
